The Endocrine Society describes BHRT as a Hormone therapy that has the same chemical and molecular structure as the estrogens and progesterone produced within the human body.
BHRT is made up of 2 formulations: bi‐est(rogen) and tri‐est(rogen). BHRT prescriptions are formulated to be administered Orally, Transdermal, or through the Vaginal route, depending on the needs of each patient. Some patients may require a dual-route treatment to effectively manage their symptoms.

Please note that although testosterone, DHEA, and pregnenolone are sometimes added to BHRT preparations by compounding pharmacies, the main components are estrogen and progesterone.

How it works

Initial Visit

Our experienced Practitioner will discuss your specific symptoms, perform a detailed assessment of your health history and evaluate your lifestyle to establish your level of safety with being started on BHRT and which route of treatment will be most suitable.

Laboratory testing

Based on your assessment findings, a series of laboratory tests will be ordered by your skilled Practitioner to identify your specific hormonal deficiencies. These lab tests may include a 24 hrs. urinary hormones collection to identify your E1, E2, E3, P, T, DHEA, Adrenal Hormone levels, blood work to test your FSH, LH, Chem 12, TSH, Lipids, Serum E, T, DHEA levels.

Treatment Visit

During your virtual visit, our experienced Practitioner will review your laboratory test results with you, identify your deficiencies and determine the course of Hormone replacement therapy that will work to effectively treat your symptoms. You will be given the option to choose which route of implementation works best for you before any final prescription is written.

Follow-up visit

This visit can be held either through a virtual call or face to face after the first 30 days once treatment has started to evaluate your body’s response to treatment and make further changes as may be deemed necessary to ensure an effective relief of your symptoms. *Please note that you have the option to contact our Practitioner at any time once treatment is started to discuss any concerns that may arise.
